What Happens When ‘My Body, My Choice’ Doesn’t Apply to Men Either

Back in 2018 Gabrielle Blair wrote a thread on Twitter that went viral.

I thought it was brilliant. So much so that I posted the entire thing on my Facebook page–something I very rarely do. In part, it’s because I’m just not active on Facebook and I keep my follower count very small. Mostly though, Facebook is the platform that I am connected to many members of my family, and “former life”. I knew posting Gabrielle’s thread was controversial and I knew that the potential for unsavory backlash was likely.

Less than 24 hours later, I was on the phone with a pro-life family member who was telling me that my post had brought shame upon the family, that I had offended all of my male family members, and demanded I take the post down.
